New Geopolitical Developments in the Supply Chain of Penicillins
b-Lactam antibiotics have been first discovered 100 years ago but they still represent the cornerstone of modern medicine.
Though we know basically everything about these compounds, science could not identify so far, a safer and more efficient treatment towards majority of the infections.
During the several decades the center of excellence for the production of these molecules has moved continuously, from US and Europe to far East up to recent development in the Middle East.
What are the next frontiers of the worldwide supply chain of antibiotics and what are the challenges when moving this technology in between different geographical regions?
