The Oman Health Gateway: Building a Digital Foundation for Future Generations

The Oman Health Gateway is a cornerstone of the Sultanate's healthcare modernization, part of the Oman Vision 2040 . In April 2025, the Omani Ministry of Health selected Trifork to create a state-of-the-art Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) system and upgrade the National Health Information Exchange (NHER) .

This project will build a unified digital platform to streamline information and finances . Key benefits include :

  • For Patients: Reduced waiting times and a more patient-focused experience.

  • For the Healthcare System: Improved cost recovery from insurers and faster claims processing.

  • For Policymakers: Better data-driven decision-making through enhanced data flow.

The project will be implemented in phases over two years, with an initial proof-of-concept delivered within the first six months.

Bringing Medication Quality to Light: Point-of-Care Innovation to Advance Diabetes Treatment in Hot-Climate Regions

As global temperatures rise, medication instability due to temperature impact is becoming an increasingly urgent challenge, especially in hot-climate regions, where heat can reduce the effectiveness of insulin and other life-saving treatments. Beyond Diagnostics introduces the world’s first point-of-care platform capable of testing the real-time biological activity of insulin. By combining innovative sensor technology with AI-driven optical analysis, this approach empowers patients and healthcare systems to ensure reliable treatment even under extreme environmental conditions. Through collaboration and local implementation, such solutions can help transform diabetes care and strengthen trust in medication quality across a warming world.

Gender differences in lung diseases

Men and women differ significantly in lung diseases due to both biological and social factors. Women are more prone to asthma after puberty and may experience stronger hormonal effects on airway inflammation. In COPD, they are more susceptible to damage at lower smoke exposure and often have greater symptom burden. Lung disease in women more often involves adenocarcinoma and EGFR mutations, even among non-smokers. Pulmonary arterial hypertension is more frequent in women but with better survival, while in cystic fibrosis and sleep apnea, women have historically worse outcomes or are underdiagnosed. Overall, sex hormones, environmental exposures, and gender-related behaviors shape these differences, underscoring the need for sex-aware prevention, diagnosis, and treatment strategies.

A Gendered Lens on Health: Addressing Oman's Unique Challenges and Opportunities

This speech delivers a comprehensive assessment of Oman's current capacity for gender-sensitive healthcare, examining the critical systems of documentation, reporting, and clinical assessment. It will report on the present state of how patient data is collected and stratified by sex and gender across the health system, and how this impacts disease reporting and clinical decision-making.

The talk will identify specific gaps in our current infrastructure—from intake forms and electronic health records to national health statistics—that hinder a precise understanding of health disparities. This analysis outlines the immediate, systemic challenges and opportunities to build a more accurate, equitable, and effective healthcare system for all.

Longevity by Design – Epigenetics and AI for a Hyperpersonalized Longevity Journey

The pursuit of longevity is evolving from reactive healthcare to proactive, data-driven design. “Longevity by Design” explores how epigenetics, AI, and precision biotechnology converge to create a new paradigm: one where biological aging becomes measurable, modifiable, and ultimately optimizable.

In this talk, Prof. Milena Georgieva presents the latest insights from molecular biology and epigenetic research, demonstrating how biological age can now be decoded and influenced through personalized interventions. She reveals how epigenetic biomarkers, combined with artificial intelligence, enable the creation of hyperpersonalized longevity maps: dynamic profiles that guide nutrition, supplementation, and lifestyle strategies with unprecedented
precision.

Drawing on her academic background and entrepreneurial experience as CSO of Epix AI, Prof. Georgieva illustrates how this synergy between science and technology is transforming longevity from an abstract goal into a scientifically designed, data-driven journey. The presentation highlights real-world applications of AI-powered biological age modelling, ethical considerations in bio-data personalization, and the future of integrative longevity ecosystems that unite molecular diagnostics, digital health, and individual optimization.

By bridging fundamental biology with intelligent systems, “Longevity by Design” redefines how we understand, monitor, and enhance human healthspan, turning longevity into an accessible and actionable science for the 21st century.
